Dr. Ross McGregor

Registered Specialist in Small Animal Surgery


Dr Ross McGregor graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1989 and began his career in mixed practice in England. Later, he started a Small Animal Clinic in South Africa and was a founding member of an Equine Specialist Hospital.

In 2002, Ross moved to Australia with his family, and in 2003, he became a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Small Animal Surgery. He gained additional expertise as a surgical registrar at Sydney University Veterinary Teaching Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Geraldine Hunt, a renowned soft tissue surgeon. In 2006, Ross founded Bilgola Veterinary Clinic on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Ross has a keen interest in treating cruciate ligament disease in dogs, and his research into Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO) has become a central aspect of his practice.

In 2013, Ross began a residency in Small Animal Surgery. In June 2023, he completed his Surgery Specialist exams and became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Surgery. With over 13 years of experience in various specialist referral surgery centres, Ross also served as an examiner for the Fellowship examination in 2024.

Ross is passionate about staying current with veterinary advancements, teaching surgery to fellow veterinarians, and tackling challenging cases.

Meet Nurse Emily Dimos
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Nurse Emily Dimos has been an integral part of the SASS team, bringing her warm personality and expertise to the clinic. After earning her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Emily quickly became known for her outstanding patient care and her ability to calm even the most nervous pets.

Emily’s passion for veterinary nursing began at a young age, and she has worked in various roles in the veterinary field, including management ,emergency and critical care. Her dedication to continuous learning makes her a key asset to the SASS team, and she often assists in the surgical process, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care.

Emily takes great pride in her role, providing comfort to both pets and their owners, and is always available to offer advice on post-operative care and recovery. Her focus on compassion and professionalism shines through in everything she does, making her a cherished member of our team.
